Recently local councils in Scotland and New Zealand have banned the sale of energy drinks to minors. Or enforced outright bans on their sale in some venues. Within the global media there has been much talk about the adverse effects of energy and sugary drinks on young people coupled with recent research attesting the same.
Energy drink companies such as Red Bull and Monster are consistently omnipresent at many adventure sport events and festivals. They also sponsor many of the world’s top adventure sport athletes who are powerful symbols to the outdoor community.
So what we want to know is. should adventure sport events and festivals accept sponsorship from energy drinks companies?
Although the Why Not? Adventure Film Festival (WNAFF) is a relatively new festival, 2012 marking the first year, the idea for it actually started about 10 years ago.
In fairness, when you’re helping to organise a film festival, it’s only right that everyone should get involved in some filming in the process. Adventure Film Festival 2013 promotional video.
